On Travel Photography – A Post Script To The Boudoir Photography Post

After my rant about not-so-faux-porno, I came across the following.

“Photography has taught us to see Africans as people to be photographed.”

That is a quote from Jonathan Jones‘ article in the Guardian on Prince Harry’s photographic* exploits in Africa, called Prince Harry and the Herdsman.

It touches on something I’ve been thinking about recently & I think I’m going to have to rip into ‘travel photography’ soon too, what with the abundance of people doing (and even making money off the back of) this in a most disturbing “oh, look at the poor / cute / underprivileged / harmonious / spiritual / etc. ethnic people, oh how I care for them so” kind of way.

* with an X100 too
